About this Event

Racism harms us all. Snoqualmie Valley Community Network believes healthy families and communities help build healthy youth. The Racial Equity Collaborative emerged from the Key Leaders Summit Planning Committee as an actionable and coordinated step organizations, government, school districts, and community members in the Valley can take to create a better environment for everyone. A safer, more just, more peaceful environment for our youth, families and community.

WHAT IS THE RACIAL EQUITY COLLABORATIVE?

The RACIAL EQUITY COLLABORATIVE will place a priority on creating equitable processes to achieve equitable outcomes through a shared partnership with People of Color living and working in the Valley. The collaborative will use an adaptive leadership approach to build a culture that fosters relationships, trust and respect across participants.

The RACIAL EQUITY COLLABORATIVE invites all stakeholders supporting youth and families in the Snoqualmie Valley to participate in the collaborative where we will:

  • Examine the impact of racism in the systems that involve our children and youth.
  • Create a shared community vision to promoting a culture of racial equity in the Snoqualmie Valley.

WHO IS INVITED?

Snoqualmie Valley Community Network believes healthy families and communities help build healthy youth. Anyone working within the community, supporting families and youth should feel free to participate. Please share this invitation with others who may be interested in participating.

The RACIAL EQUITY COLLABORATIVE will be coordinated and facilitated by Lisa Hart, Community Coordinator for the Snoqualmie Valley Community Network.

The RACIAL EQUITY COLLABORATIVE will meet via Zoom. A week before the meeting you will receive an email from Lisa Hart (Lisa@svcn.info) with the Zoom log in information.

Hope to see you there!

Key Leaders Summit

Please Join us for the 2020 Key Leaders Summit.

Aug 10, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Zoom call

Register at: https://kls2020.eventbrite.com

Snoqualmie Valley Key Leaders meet at a moment of historical importance this year. As our region responds to a global pandemic, stay at home orders, a Greater Recession, and civil unrest, it is incumbent on those in positions of authority and influence to determine how to provide compassionate direction to the communities we lead. One way to make sense of so much disruption and change is to select a single lens through which to examine the whole. At Key Leaders Summit 2020, we will pick up the lens of racial equity to diagnose the situation the Valley is in today and develop a prescription for next steps.

Join us to learn more about:

  • What is racial equity and why would it matter in a place like Snoqualmie Valley?
  • What are the ways we perpetuate racism without knowing it?
  • How do our views about racial equity affect the ways we lead in the other areas of our lives?
  • What can I do to make a difference at this historic moment?
