Valley Resilience Teams
SVCN coordinates two Resilience Teams in the Snoqualmie Valley. The mission of these community-based groups is to build a resilient Snoqualmie Valley community that is safe, supportive, and connected– where all people can flourish. These teams collaborate to identify and act upon strategies to further promote resiliency within our community.
The Riverview Resiliency Team is creating a community initiative called Riverview Resilient. The goal of the initiative is to help community members gain an understanding of the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences and strategies for working through some of life’s difficult times. Connection is a key strategy for building resilience. As part of Riverview Resilient, there will be opportunities for the community to gather in a way that helps build connections, such as the recent Riverview Resilient Teen Night at the Northwest Art Center.
Upper Valley Resilience Team
In fall 2019, the Upper Valley Resilience Team is implementing Handle With Care—a partnership aimed at helping students be successful in school despite traumatic circumstances they may have endured. The program, which originated in West Virginia and has been adopted in many states, will launch in the Snoqualmie Valley School District in partnership with the Upper Snoqualmie Valley Resilience Team, Snoqualmie & North Bend Police, and Snoqualmie Fire Department.
